1 Corinthians 12:1-14

Prayer and Preparation
Before you read 1 Corinthians 12:1-14 spend some time in prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit to not only teach you the truth found in these verses but also empower you to put the truth into practice. Pray that your time in study would lead to life change.

Read 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, then read Romans 12:6-8. In what ways are the lists of gifts similar, and what is different? Why do you think Paul doesn’t list the same exact gifts in each?

 
What point is Paul teaching in I Cor. 12:12-14?

According to I Cor. 12:7, why were the gifts given to believers? And what does that mean for us as followers of Christ?

Application
In what ways has the Holy Spirit gifted you? How might you use those gifts for the common good? In what ways could you use your gifts to help the church body function in a healthier way?
