Ridgeline Study Prompts
Acts 16:11-40 & Philippians 1
Prayer and Preparation
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18) Spend some time in prayer that the Spirit would help you behold the glory of the Lord as you study.
Study
In Philippians 1:3-11 Paul sends a greeting to the people of Philippi. In Acts 16 we met some of the people he was thinking about as he later wrote the epistle. Who are the three main individuals highlighted in our Acts passage, and what do we know about them?
The three people mentioned are very different from one another in their circumstances. In each of their lives, God works (through Paul) in a different way to. What are the unique approaches to each dividual?
Application
Even while imprisoned, Paul seems to gain strength from the Church - especially communities of believers like those in Philippi. How have you personally experienced encouragement and accountability through a community of believers?
How can you provide encouragement and accountability to others in your church family this week? Are there specific ways you can strengthen other believers in the coming days? We encourage you to write something down, share it with another person, and to act on it soon.
