Psalm 1

Prayer and Preparation

The first Psalm is encouraging and challenging all at the same time. Take a moment to prepare your heart and mind that you might properly apply the wisdom of this passage. Ask the Lord for clarity to see truth, the mind to dwell on it in meaningful ways and the strength to do as He directs.

Study

Psalm 1 describes three things the wise man avoids. What are some things you notice about these lines in verse 1?

What are the attributes of a blessed person, as described in verses 2 and 3?

In what ways does Jesus fulfill this Psalm?

Application

In light of Psalm 1, if someone observed your life, do you think they would call you blessed? What reasons might they have for their answer?

What course corrections might you need to make to walk in the way of the righteous?
