Ridgeline Study Prompts

The Book of Acts

Prayer and Preparation

One of our repeated sayings is we don’t read the Bible to finish, we read the Bible to be changed. As you spend time processing what the Lord has shown you in the book of Acts and how it might change you, take a few minutes first to pray. Ask the Holy Spirit to direct your study and empower life change in you.

Study

Reflecting on the book of Acts, what are some of the themes that stood out to you or lessons you have learned over the past year? Think back to Acts 1:8, then the coming of the Holy Spirit, in chapter 2; from the start of the Church to the start of persecution; the scattering of the persecuted, and the coming of a multiethnic people of God; the new churches and missions; Paul’s imprisonment and the testimonies shared. In all the stories Luke shared, what are some themes that stand out to you?

Application

Of the themes you listed above, what are some ways you can ask God for them to make a difference in your life (for the sake of this exercise, focus on one or two)? Write them down and tell a spiritual partner about it. Ask them to pray with you that God will use what He is showing you to change you. And ask them to periodically ask you how it’s going.
