Ridgeline Study Prompts
1 Corinthians 15:12-28
Prayer and Preparation
It is our prayer that this week’s time in the Word stirs your affections during this Holy Week. As Paul highlighted throughout his ministry, the resurrection is key. It is fuel for our hope, it is proof of God’s power, it is a sign that the enemy has been defeated. Take a few minutes to quiet your heart and mind and spend time in prayer. Then open your Bible to 1 Corinthians 15 and read verses 12-28.
Study
In your own words, why are Christians to be most pitied if there is no resurrection?
Paul describes Jesus at the “first fruit”. What does he mean by this phrase? How is Jesus the first fruit?
Application
How does the resurrection bring you hope this week? In what areas of life might you be feeling defeated? In what ways do you need to be reminded that God has already won? How do you find the same encouragement that Paul tapped into through the doctrine of the resurrection? There is power in sharing your story. There is reassurance in the process of testifying. Find someone to share your answers with, and watch the Lord solidify you through your sharing.
