Ridgeline Study Prompts

Acts 28:11-31

Prayer and Preparation

As you prepare to study this last passage from the book of Acts, spend a few minutes asking the Lord to clear your mind of distractions and to open your eyes and your ears - to understand with your heart the subtle prompting of the Lord through His word.

Study

Just like in previous accounts of Paul’s ministry, when Paul gets to Rome, we see him meet with the Jewish people first. Luke tells of several different responses to Paul’s message. What are some of those responses?

What does this passage show about Paul’s heart for the people of Israel?

Paul has been a great example throughout the book of Acts. In this passage we can see and learn much from him about the heart that fuels missional living, the doctrine behind the work, how to deal with rejection, etc. What are the specific examples Paul displays that stand out to you?

Application

Of the examples you listed above, what are one or two practical applications you can make? How can your heart for missions, your philosophy of missions or your methodology of missions be shaped in a real way through your study and prayerful reflection of this text?
