Ridgeline Study Prompts

Acts 27

Prayer and Preparation

Acts 27 reads like a scene taken from an epic movie. Before you read our Scripture passage, pause to ask the Lord to open your mind as you study. Luke didn’t include this story simply for our entertainment; ask the Lord what it is that He wants to say to you in these verses.

Study

This passage shows how Paul, a prisoner, still influences the people and circumstances around him. We have seen multiple times how Paul is a good example for living as a Christian on mission. What lessons can you take from Paul’s example in this text?

Where does Paul’s confidence in the face of adversity come from in the story found in Acts 27?

What is the outcome of Paul’s servant leadership in this chapter?

Application

No matter your position or status with others, God gives each of us opportunities to influence those around us and to walk as obedient ambassadors of the Gospel. Are there opportunities to influence you have been reluctant to step into because you thought you didn’t have the right position or status in that situation? How can you follow Paul’s example to be a person of Gospel influence in those spaces moving forward?
