Ridgeline Study Prompts

Acts 26

Prayer and Preparation

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” - John 15:4-5

Every time you earnestly go to God in prayer and study you are actively abiding in Christ. You are keeping yourself attached to the vine. It is in this ongoing habit of abiding that spiritual fruit begins to show. Apart from abiding, it is impossible for you to experience real and lasting life-change. Pray and ask God to bless your time abiding today. Then mindfully read Acts 26.

Study

Acts 26 is another account of Paul testifying of his ministry and beliefs. In verse 8 he asks King Agrippa a question. What is the point Paul is trying to make in the question?

In verses 9 through 18 Paul testifies of his conversion to Christianity. In what ways can you see humility and purpose in Paul’s life?

In verses 27 through 29 Paul and Agrippa have a fascinating interaction. What can we learn about sharing the gospel, from Paul’s words, tone, and attitude in these three verses?

Application

Paul once again displays great courage, conviction, and character under pressure. He also continues to make the most of every opportunity to boast in Jesus and the saving work of the gospel. What is one thing you observed in his example that you can put into practice this week?
