Prayer and Preparation

In Psalm 119:105 David wrote, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Spend a few minutes asking the Holy Spirit to help you see God’s word in this way as you read and study this week’s text.

Study

A lot has happened since Paul arrived in Jerusalem in Acts 21. Take a minute to refresh your mind of the past few chapters. Write down a summary of the events leading up to chapter 25.

As you read Acts 25:1-12, make some notes about Festus’ behaviors and attitude through the story. Do the same for Paul in these verses. How do they compare?

What do you think we can learn from this text? What about Paul’s circumstances, or what we can know of God’s providence here, can apply to your life this week?
