Prayer and Preparation
Genesis 1 shows us so much about our God and the world He has brought us into. Spend a few minutes in prayer, asking the Lord to help you more clearly see the beauty of the world He’s created, and the story He’s telling.

What can we learn about God in Genesis 1? What is He like, what is He doing?

What patterns or rhythms do you notice in the creation account? What do these rhythms or patterns draw your attention to in the text?

The Torah (Books of Moses/ first 5 books of our Bible) was given to the people of God, who had recently been delivered from Egypt, its customs and its religions. What is the importance of the Genesis 1 story? What elements of the story might have stood out to the Jewish people, as the original audience of this creation account?
