Ridgeline Study Prompts

2 Timothy 3:14-17

Prayer and Preparation
This week we study the Ridgeline Core Value of the Bible. God’s holy Word is a gift. Spend a few minutes in prayer and preparation asking the Lord to give you the heart of David that is displayed in Psalm 19. Pray that you would find His Word sweeter than honey and more precious than gold. Then carefully and thoughtfully read 2 Timothy 3:14-17.

Study
In verse 16, Paul instructs Timothy that all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for a list of reasons. If those reasons are really profitable, how should they shape the content of your conversations, the content of our Sunday gatherings, and the content of your thinking?

How does 2 Timothy 3:14-17 show that the Bible is a catalyst for sanctification?

How is the Bible important in having a correct understanding of salvation?

Application
If the Bible gives us the correct content and truth, if it is a catalyst for sanctification and it gives us a right understanding of salvation, what practical habits, behaviors or disciplines might we dive deeper into to maximize our exposure to the Scriptures?

How can you shape your interactions with others to reflect the value of keeping the Bible as the driving authority of that conversation?
