Psalm 129

Psalm 129 was a song of encouragement for the oppressed and downtrodden. Take a minute to be still and ask the Lord to use your time studying Psalm 129 to encourage you, even if you are finding yourself downtrodden.
Study
Verses 1 through 4 paint a picture of how Israel was delivered in the past. Summarize the message these four verses depict.
In verses 5 through 8, the tone of the psalm shifts and an imprecatory petition is made. Summarize the request made by the people of Israel in these verses.
What does this psalm show us about God? How can Christ be seen in this psalm?
Application
Have you seen God defend you in the past? What was that situation and in what ways did God come to your aid and bring you deliverance?
In what areas do you need God to bring deliverance again?
