Ridgeline Study Prompts

 Acts 10

Prayer and Preparation

This week’s passage is a longer section. Hopefully, these prompts are a springboard for you to dive into deep study that takes you beyond the questions we offer. Spend time in prayer and then allow yourself the margin to really explore the layers of this story. There is much to learn and much to apply.

Study

Summarize this chapter in a few sentences. What’s going on in this portion of Acts? Who are the people involved? What’s their background? What’s the significance of their interaction together?

Think of Peter’s situation; with all that he was taught and all the customs he followed. What paradigms and worldviews were being reshaped?

What is the significance of this chapter to the story of the early Church and the growth of God’s kingdom?

Application

What lessons and truths can be taken from this text and applied to where the Lord has us now? We see both Cornelius and Peter step out in radical obedience driven by incredible faith. Is there an action the Lord has asked of you that seems like it would take radical obedience driven by faith? Share your answer with someone who can walk with you in your pursuit of obedience.
