Ridgeline Study Prompts

Psalm 15 and 24

Prayer and Preparation

In Psalm 24 the Hebrew word “Selah” is used twice. This word is an invitation to the reader or listener to pause, dwell on, or soak in the words that were just expressed. The reminder of the psalmist is still helpful to us today. As you read these two Psalms, take moments to pause and reflect. Don’t rush through the Scripture. Soak it in, dwell on it...allow yourself to marinate in it for a while. Doing so, you will find yourself abiding - being with Christ and engaging with the Father, through the enlightening work of the Holy Spirit. Spend a few minutes in prayer, asking the Lord to bless your time with Him.

Study

As we move into studying Book 1 of the Psalms (Psalms 3-41), we will begin with the heart, or core – Psalms 15-24. Our study this week is the bookends of this section - Psalms 15 & 24. Read and summarize Psalm 15, then do the same with Psalm 24.

In what ways are these two psalms similar?

How do these two psalms relate to sanctification and the Gospel?

Application

How do these psalms relate to us, as we live between the already (our justification at salvation), and the not yet (our future glorification)? Please come prepared on Sunday to share something God puts on your heart.
