Ridgeline Study Prompts

Galatians 3:15-29

Prayer and Preparation
The Lord desires to walk closely with you today. Spend a few minutes in prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to stir your affections for Christ. Then slowly and thoughtfully read this week’s text, with the anticipation that God wants to spend time with you as you spend time in His Word.

Study

What was the promise and covenant made to Abraham that Paul is referring to in verses 15 through 18? Read Genesis 15 for help.

According to verses 19 through 22, what is the purpose of the Law?

With the context of the rest of the Scripture in mind, what does verse 28 mean? Are there any distinctions, or is everyone the same?

Application
How do faith and law function together in your life? Do you find it hard to walk in faith? Do you rely on the law? Do you often live in shame and find motivation from guilt? Or are you compelled by love and faith, to live the life God has offered you? After processing your answer to this question, allow yourself to be vulnerable enough to share your response with a spiritual partner.
