Ridgeline Study Prompts
Acts 19:21-41
Prayer and Preparation
“Make me to know your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” (Psalm 25:4-5)
As we study, may we aspire to have the same attitude and longing David expresses in this Psalm. Pray that your heart may reflect David’s as you wait upon the Lord and anticipate His teaching and leading.
Study
Describe what Ephesus was like during the years of Paul’s ministry. How were the city and culture changing?
What was at the heart of Demetrius’ anger? Was that the same as what they were shouting as they rioted?
What similarities can be drawn between first century Ephesus and the culture we are living in?
Application
If Anchorage experienced a great awakening like that in Ephesus, what are some of the changes you think would take place?
Some of what you wrote above may seem lofty and unattainable if not for the fact that the Holy Spirit is at work in us. Change often starts in small, personal ways. What might an awakening with a close friend or family member look like? Pray for specific people and specific opportunities to share the Gospel in the coming days. Share your thoughts on this question with a spiritual partner for support, prayer and accountability.
